Preheat: 375ºF (190ºC)
Apples, pears, cranberries...in a rich and creamy oatmeal base. All of fall’s harvest in one pan – need we say more?
What You'll Need
1 can (300 mL) Regular or Low Fat sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup (50 mL) orange juice
1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) each: ground cinnamon and nutmeg
3 apples peeled, cored and sliced
3 pears, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup (125 mL) frozen cranberries, thawed
1 cup (250 mL) all purpose flour
1/2 cup (125 mL) rolled oats
1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar
1/2 cup (125 mL ) cold butter
What's Next:
1. Whisk together the condensed milk, orange juice, and spices. Add apples, pears and cranberries; toss until fruit is well coated.
2. Spoon mixture into a lightly buttered 8 cup (2 L) baking dish; set aside.
3. Combine flour, oats and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; sprinkle on top of apple mixture.
4. Bake in preheated 375ºF (190ºC) oven for 30-35 minutes or until fruit has softened.
5. Serve warm with ice cream.
