THE HIGHER TASTE

Calcutta rice.

Yield: Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 teaspoon seasoned pepper
1 cup sliced celery
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/4 cup sliced almonds
3 cups cooked rice

Preparation:
Melt butter; stir in curry powder and pepper.

Add celery, apples and almonds; cook until tender crisp.

Stir in rice and heat thoroughly.
