THE HIGHER TASTE

Apple Date Bread.

Ingredients.
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup flaked coconut
1 1/2 cups milk
2 teaspoon yogourt
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces chopped dates
1 cup finely chopped apples

Preparation.
Spread coconut in shallow pan. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until lightly browned.

Mix and sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the coconut.

Whisk together the milk, yogourt, and vanilla; add to dry ingredients. Stir well.

Fold chopped dates and apples into mixture. Spread into greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350° for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
