Ginger bread.
Ingredients.
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup yogourt
2/3 cup unsulfured molasses
2/3 cup milk
Preparation.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. In a bowl, measure the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, and cinnamon; set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy on medium speed. Combine the molasses, yogourt and milk in a small bowl. Remove the butter mixture from the mixer. Alternate adding the flour and milk mixtures to the butter mixture. Fold the batter together with a rubber spatula.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake in 350-degree oven for approximately 50 minutes or until done. Let cool. Remove bread from pan and wrap for a later date or serve hot.
