Part 1 / 2 / 3

My another pilgrimage was to Barsana and Nandagaon. At Barsana were greeted by one of the temple pujaris who gave us Raj-bhog from Radhashtami celebrations and which was obviously very yummy.

This is the Jali at the Jaipur Mandir which is little farther away from the main temple. Frankly speaking I don’t know about the history of this temple.

A beautiful Roshan Dan at the temple.

Cow grazing fields near Barsana. Just captured this shot while the vehicle was on move.

Till now I had never visited Unchagaon – the village of Srimati Lalita Devi. I had read a lot of this transcendental place and was very much interested to visit this place. Somehow was praying to Srimati Radharani that atleast this time, let me not miss, still I missed half of it. Doesn’t matter Srimati Radharani wants me to visit again.

A beautiful view of Unchagaon from Barsana.

Temple of Lalita Sakhi atop the hillock. If you have not visited this place, I suggest you not to miss out when you visit Barsana next. It is just ten mins ride from Barsana. This beautiful temple is the temple of Lalita Sakhi.

Beautifully renovated Deha Kunda – Here Sri Krishna gave Srimati Radharani in charity to a brahmana. After giving Radharani in charity, Lord started feeling separation from her and thus asked the brahmana to return her. Then on one condition that Krishna should donate gold to him equivalent to the weight of Srimati Radharani, brahmana agreed. On the banks of the Kunda, Krishna donated gold equivalent to the weight of Srimati Radharani and got her back. This Kunda is on the foot hill of Unchagaon.

The Deities of Sri Sri Radha Deha Bihariji in the temple adjacent to the Deha Kunda.

It is very important to describe the pastime of These wonderful Deities. First to me They appeared like Krishna and Balarama since one Deity is black and the other white. Perhaps you will also be thinking the same or not. This is the only place where Sri Balarama is seen along with His wife on the altar. It is here that Sri Balarama had a desire to perform the yajna after finishing His pilgrimage and for performing yajna, it is necessary for a married man to have his wife seated next to him to give the purnahuti. Therefore Lord Balarama called Srimati Revati here and performed the fire sacrifice.

Sakhigiri Parvata – this beautiful hill has phisalani shila (on which copy used to slide), lotus feet imprints of the gopis, the place where Lalita and Krishna married, places where gopis played, a well dug by the gopis, A well containing the waters of three sacred rivers (triveni-kupa), the stone slabs on which gopies painted, etc. I missed this part.

The Nanda Bhavan Temple from Ter Kadamba.

Beautifully carved main entrance of Sri Nanda Bhavan Mandir.

Sri Nanda Bhavan Mandir – The Supreme Personality of Godhead crawled in the angan of this temple.

The beautiful Nandagaon Mandir. On the far left one can see Yashoda Kunda.
